2005 Mazda 6
Bacground information, features, pricing, and specifications for the 2005 Mazda 6 sedan.
Mazda, one of the many manufacturers out of Japan, entered the American car market with affordable and reliable cars. Mazda has a long standing relationship with Ford Motor Company. Over the years, Ford has increased its shares in the company from 25% to 33%. Recently, Mazda has decided to redesign many of its models and add new models to rejuvenate the line and live up to its slogan, 'Zoom, Zoom.'
One very popular model on the market is the Mazda6. While this model is categorized as a sedan, it is sportier than other sedans, such as Toyota Camry or Honda Accord. The aggressive front resembles that of Acura's RSX and TSX and the body styling has taken queues from Mazda's RX-8, though it can fit 4 passengers more comfortably than the RX-8. The 6 is available as a 5-door and a wagon.
According to those at Edmunds, www.edmunds.com, this sedan is more fun to drive than many other family sedans, offering a smooth shifting manual transmission and powerful delivery. Drawbacks include the tight rear-seat area and a few inferior interior materials.
Notable Features:
- 2.3 liter DOHC engine with 160 horsepower or 3.0 liter DOHC engine with 220 horsepower
