Japanese automaker Nissan has mastered the art of designing cars known for both performance and style. They have several models for various markets, including sedans, coupes, SUVs, and vans. Their most popular models include the 350Z, Altima, and Pathfinder.
Nissan is one of the best known Japanese car makers. Nissan (www.nissanusa.com) reports that the Nissan Motor Company was officially established in 1933. A few years later, it made its first widely manufactured vehicle, the Datsun Type 15. The Nissan name has become associated with style and reliability and is most noted for its sporty compact cars such as the Maxima, Altima, and 350z. Nissan also manufactures several other vehicles for other different markets, however, such as SUVs and trucks. SUVs include the Xterra, Pathfinder, and Armada. Few associate most Japanese companies with trucks, but Nissan makes several models, such as the Titan and the Frontier. They've also tapped the family market with a minivan model called the Quest.
Nissan 350z
Nissan reports that they've worked quite closely with Renault of France while developing the newer version of the classic Z, the 350Z. This sleek sports car delivers both style and performance. The 350Z is available in two different models: the Z Coupe and the Z Roadster. It's powered by a 3.5 liter DOHC 24 valve V6 engine. Depending on the specific package chosen, this engine can provide either 287 horsepower or 300 horsepower.
The exterior well represents what is found underneath the hood. Jason Fogelson of About.com (cars.about.com) says it looks like it's ready to pounce. Nissan has designed an interior that is best described as sporty and luxurious, which is only complemented with its sporty exterior. The leather seats provide comfort for all passengers. According to the professionals at Edmnuds (www.edmunds.com), the 350Z's downfalls include its lack of storage space and poor rearward visibility.
Nissan Pathfinder
One of Nissan's most popular SUVs is the Pathfinder. After some redesigning, Nissan has created an SUV that exudes dominance. Underneath the hood is a 4.0 liter DOHC 24 valve V6 engine providing 270 horsepower. Those at Edmunds report that it's the most powerful V6 in its class. The Pathfinder can comfortably seat seven passengers. One of its drawbacks, according to those at Edmunds, is its lack of refined on-road handling.
The Pathfinder is available in 4 different packages: the XE, SE, SE off-road, and LE.
